Inflammation and tissue destruction

The aim of our research is to find out how inflammation generated at a primary site can spread to secondary sites and result in tissue destruction. Understanding the spread of inflammation and its mediators is the key for the design of new therapeutic approaches that are efficient and affordable. Our approach will not only contribute to the understanding of the triggers of inflammation and tissue degradation but to also understand why inflammation spreads to secondary sites and is often is reactivated in such sites
